We received a few pieces from their Latitude and Aluminum collection recently and were beyond impressed.
The Latitude collection features TUMI’s most durable and lightweight hard case luggage. It’s constructed with an innovative material that is meant to move and bend, so it holds up well to all the bumps and drops luggage can be put through. It’s a “tough luxury” style that can withstand harsh climates or big impacts and looks great at the same time.
The 19 Degree Aluminum luggage collection is lightweight with a modern look. The suitcases have contoured angles that catch the light and make a statement. Because they are made of metal, this style will get dents and bumps along the way, which TUMI says helps tell the stories of all the places you travel. A well-used suitcase means lots of adventures!
One of our favorite features of TUMI as a brand is its exceptional customer service. In the past, we had the handle on one of our bags break. We contacted TUMI and through customer service, we were able to bring the luggage to the closest TUMI store and they quickly fixed it and we were on our way again. We were lucky that the repair could be fixed in-store and the bag didn’t need to be sent away for repairs.

Our Experience with TUMI luggage
From the Latitude collection, I opted for a “Very Long Travel Suitcase” with matching International carry-on bags. This caught my eye as this luggage is designed for longer trips or can be used by two people for easier shared packing. It has a streamlined design, a gorgeous blush color and a brand-new wheel system for easier maneuvering.
We also got the “Latitude Short” luggage for each of our kids. It still has that tough outer shell design to hold up well, but it’s slightly smaller so it’s a perfect size for them now and as they get older.
From TUMI’s 19 Degree Aluminum collection, we picked out the “Very Long Travel Suitcase” in silver with the matching International carry-on in the same color. These caught our eye because of their striking look with a modern silhouette and stunning contoured angles. The bags are a great size for fitting everything you need and are super durable. Because of the unique aluminum material, it was also intriguing that the suitcase could be like a passport – but instead of collecting stamps, collect little nicks along the way showing a well-traveled journey.
Top Features of the Tumi Latitude Collection
For the Latitude collection, the MOST important feature for us was the weight. It’s the lightest suitcase we’ve ever come across that also feels durable. It’s so important that luggage is light enough to feel like you can easily get it to your destination, but everything inside also needs to be safe!
The Latitude now comes in this beautiful blush color which just feels glamorous and makes the bag stand out among all the rest when you’re waiting at the baggage claim. We also love that you can customize the luggage for free with embossed luggage tags and name tags. It’s that little bit of personality that takes it up a notch.
The wheels on these are part of TUMI’s new wheel system and make it easy to navigate all types of flooring whether you’re pulling it across a jetty to hop onto your boat, through a sandy beach to your hotel, over cobblestones or trying to run to your gate at the airport.
The “Very Long Suitcase” we had also came with a garment bag inside which was really handy for packing clothes and a nice extra to have. I highly recommend getting a cover for the suitcases in the Latitude collection to keep them looking good. TUMI doesn’t make covers for these specific bags, so we bought a couple online and used those. The covers are great for protecting from scratches (although bigger dents can still happen) and our bags still look brand-new because of them.
Top Features of the Tumi 19 Degree Aluminum Collection
The Aluminum suitcases are pretty light and honestly just sexy pieces of luggage! These bags are eye-catching – both up close or from a distance as you walk through the airport. I love the sheen and the wavey pattern the metal has. It’s distinctive and a great bag for both men and women.
The Aluminum collection is a more sensitive material that is susceptible to dings and scratches – it’s a piece that is meant to look “well-traveled” and have some character to it. TUMI has catered to this by also including a variety of vintage-inspired stickers to decorate the bag with. It gives some extra fun and flair to the luggage.
If stickers aren’t for you, I suggest investing in a cover for this luggage. TUMI makes the cover specifically for the Aluminum piece. It’s a nylon cover with Velcro at the bottom to keep it snugly in place. The cover will keep the bag free of scratches and smudges, but dents can still happen.

Final Thoughts
These newer pieces of luggage from TUMI are absolutely beautiful, well made and durable. It’s hard to find luggage that ticks all the boxes, but these pieces do. This is luxury luggage that will stand the test of time both in design and durability.
While getting expensive luggage for our kids wasn’t something we had previously considered, TUMI bags for them are an investment for now and the future. Knowing how durable and light the luggage is, we know these are pieces our kids can use for many years. Also, since the luggage is so modern and masculine, we can use the kids luggage for shorter trips as needed.
